Has anyone else noticed that once they click the sleep option on the Power/Shutdown button it stays that colour/function? I cant seem to get my button to shut down the PC now, all it wants to do is hibernate the PC! How do you get it to go back to being the shutdown as default? Its a pain having to keep going to the sub-menu and choosing shutdown specifically.

Power Button Changed
It is a pain having to use the drop down menu for everything - how about separate little buttons for each option like XP - keep it simple

That is by design (to remember last mode used). See if using the option you want from the little right-pointing carat just to the right changes the default back. Be sure to give feedback on how you feel about this behavior. The TechBeta folks have been hammering away at the Vista Shell team for months about various layout schemes and behaviors for these functions.

On my computer that function is a setting in the BIOS, not Windows.

You can change that behavior in the advanced power settings via the control panel.

Selecting the option I required fromt he right-hand caret did not make a difference, the default stayed as 'hibernate'. I have found the control for it from Mark Scheidell's post (thanks mark) and it seems to be OK now, Ill monitor it.

It doesn't remember that last mode used, it will always be one function with the rest in the little flyout menu. The location to change the function is posted below. ---------- Mark Dietz PROnetworks <http://www.pro-networks.org>
